Making a claim for a Temporary or Total Disability can be a worrying time, so we want to make the process as quick and as hassle-free as possible. We’re here to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

Step 1 - Contact us

Contact our UK based Claims Team as soon as possible.

You can call directly on 0345 600 6815. We’re open 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, except bank holidays. If you’re calling from overseas, please call +44 (0)1737 44 1815. Please note these opening hours are UK local time.  

We’ll ask for some information about you and your illness. Please also try and have your policy number to hand. We’ll arrange to call you back at an agreed time.

Step 2 - Getting your claim started

You’ll talk to one of our experienced Claims Assessors and we’ll agree the best way to get the medical evidence to support your claim. If you can, please have ready the details of your diagnosis, your doctors’ contact details and any copies of medical letters you may have. We’ll also ask you some information about your finances, occupation and employment. 

Afterwards, we’ll send you a statement of our conversation - you won’t need to complete a claim form.

We usually have this conversation over the phone so that we can get started on your claim as soon as possible. But if you’d rather complete a claim form yourself, please let us know and we’ll send one to you.

Step 3 - What happens next?

Leave it to us. We’ll collect any medical information we need to assess your claim and will keep you informed throughout.

Once we’ve agreed to pay your claim, we’ll make monthly payments in arrears on the last working day of the month. Payments will start once your deferred period has ended.

While we assess your claim, please continue paying your premiums.
