At AIG, we specialise in providing more than financial support. Most of our individual life insurance products include two added services, at no extra cost to you*:

Should you or a member of your family be diagnosed with a serious illness, we know that you will have many questions and will want clear, reliable answers.

A second opinion could prove to be invaluable – this is where Best Doctors™ comes in.

Through our partnership with Best Doctors™, you will be able to get a second opinion and recommendations for treatment from a world-renowned medical expert. This will give you the necessary information to help you make the best decision for you.

For customers with a critical illness policy, we not only support our customers during the term of the cover but when their cover ends too. Therefore, even if you have had your claim paid and your policy ends, our support doesn’t end there, as you will still be able to access the Best Doctors® service for three years following the claim. This will enable you to receive important follow-up support to help manage and live with the after-effects of treatment.*

*Please note: The extended access to Best Doctors is only available to customers who hold a critical illness policy and this will only apply to the person covered by the claim, not to family members.

Your AIG policy covers the cost of the Best Doctors service and arranges for the collection, return and assessment of your medical information. You will be responsible for any cost associated with any medical treatment, travel or accommodation, either in the UK or abroad.

Best Doctors can help with a vast range of medical conditions. It can also be a pre-existing condition, and does not have to relate to a claim. ​

At AIG, we know that the death of a parent or sibling can be one of the most fundamental losses a child will ever face.

Through our partnership with Winston’s Wish, if one of our policyholders dies or is diagnosed with a terminal illness, AIG will fund the family to receive the specialist support they need to help them rebuild their lives after the death of a loved one.

Winston’s Wish offers the widest range of practical support and guidance in the UK, including online resources, publications, a national telephone helpline, professional face-to-face support and group work.

Anyone making a life or terminal illness claim can use this service – it doesn’t matter when the policy was taken out. ​

Please note that Winston’s Wish is not available with our Whole of Life, Care Cover with Whole of Life or Business Protection products.
